How Do I Like a Facebook Page With My Page?

So you’ve found a Facebook page that shares a similar goal as your page and you want to support it. Maybe a friend has a page that you would like to support with your page. Well I’m going to tell you how to do that.
I’ll start with the process to do that before I go into why it is a good idea to like someone else’s page.

You start by going to the page you would like to ‘like.’ (Mine is a great place to start if you need some practice.)

Then you click on the gear icon on the right side of the page as shown in the picture below.

After clicking the gear, you scroll down to the ‘Like As Your Page’ option.

A box will pull up with a drop-down box and you click the arrow on the right.

After selecting the page you want to ‘like’ the page with, click save and you’re done.

Why would you want to like someone else’s Facebook page? To me it is good business practice to show support for my clients and friends by linking my page to theirs. The person you are supporting is also much more likely to support you in return. I also provide ‘likes’ to pages that have provided a good service to my business. This helps clients by leading them to services that have worked for you as well.
By ‘liking’ someone’s page, it gives them added traffic from users who enjoy your work and trust your opinion. Building a network is important in business and there are few easier ways than with a simple click of a mouse button.
Another good example of this outside of the business world applies to musicians and other artists. If your band plays with another band that has a style that doesn’t conflict with yours, it helps the other band and yours to link to their page with a ‘like.’ Your fan base can support other artists and hopefully they will help you spread your name to their fan base. You will also be helping your fans find more music they may like by ‘liking’ and supporting similar bands since most people have a preferred taste in music.
It pays to be cautious though. You only want to ‘like’ pages that won’t reflect poorly on your page. You don’t want to ‘like’ a page that might post something that you don’t agree with. For instance, a company that helps American workers find jobs wouldn't want to like the page of a company that posts about how to outsource business, even if they have provided them with good service.
In our age of technology, the internet, and social media, it is as easy as ever to network and give support to services you trust. Paying it forward can only help you in the long run, so go on over and give someone you trust a ‘like!’

Do I Need A Website for My Small Business?

You've started a great project with a great service and you are wondering what the first step is to getting discovered. You're in the phone book and you have been handing out your business cards, but haven't had the response you would like to. The reason for that is that people today search the internet for their information instead of picking up the phone. This is a great thing though. If you have a website, your customers can find most of the information they need without tying up your phone line or your time so you can be more productive.
Keeping a webpage up with your contact information, pricing, and information on how you operate is also a benefit to the customer. A quick web search will pull up a lot of the information the customer needs and they don't have to find time to call you. Websites operate for you 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. So most of the calls that you would receive about operating hours and other quick questions could be looked up on your site and provided to the customer while you are at home with your family. It can also provide business to you in this way, because your competitor likely has their store hours and prices online so the customer doesn't have to wait for you to open so they can call and ask.
Approximately 213 million searches are performed on search engines everyday. 1
While reducing your phone calls and increasing productivity is one of the primary advantages, increasing traffic is another big benefit. Approximately 213 million searches are performed on search engines everyday. 1 That's a lot of potential business that you are missing out on if you don't have a website. If you don't have a webpage and a potential customer or client searches online for the type of business in your area, someone else is going to get your business. Even if you are the cheapest and best at what you do in your area.
Not many people run to their phone book and look up companies in their area anymore. Most people grab their smart phone, computer, or tablet and do a quick web search. Having a webmaster that puts your company on these search engines gets your company noticed more often and faster. It's a great way to showcase your work and tell a little about yourself to prospective customers.
You've heard that websites are expensive. While this used to be the case when the only people who could create webpages were computer programmers, there are a lot of cheaper options out there now. Companies like 417 Online Design use more manageable software that allows them to have cheaper rates. While hiring a big name firm can cost thousands of dollars in setup fees and hosting, 417 Online Design offers basic webpages starting at only $65 in setup fees and several maintenance options to choose from. You can even choose to pay-per-update.
So while there are many reasons to have a website, these are definitely a few of the biggest reasons. The cost of having a website has drastically decreased, very efficient advertising, and it is a benefit to your customers.
